Laplink® Offers Solution for Upgrading from Windows XP® to Windows® 7 for Under $ 1

Upgrade to Windows 7 for Under $ 1

Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) August 02, 2011

Laplink Software, Inc. today announced its PCmover Windows® 7 Upgrade Assistant™ is now available for less than $ 1 per license.

Microsoft® recently disclosed that 75% of businesses are still running Windows XP®. But, these users have a problem – Microsoft does not support upgrading from XP® to Windows 7. Specifically, out of the 66 Windows 7 upgrade scenarios outlined by Microsoft, only 14 are supported by Windows 7 as an in-place upgrade. Laplink solves this problem for less than $ 1 per desktop.

“We offer the fastest and easiest method to upgrade existing hardware from XP to Windows 7,” said Laplink CEO Thomas Koll. “And now we are removing any cost barrier.”

With PCmover, the upgrade process does not require external media, no programs need to be reinstalled after the upgrade and the PC’s “personality” remains intact.

“Windows XP will not be supported indefinitely by Microsoft,” continued Koll. “Businesses will need to deploy Windows 7 and Laplink has a much-needed solution.”

The Upgrade Assistant functionality is also part of PCmover Enterprise™, which additionally allows for PC-to-PC migration and operating system independent restore of an image or hard drive.

More information about this offer is available at http://www.laplink.com. In order to obtain the special pricing, the minimum purchase is $ 950 for a license valid for up to 1,000 upgrades, valid for a limited time only.
