DuraHeart™ manufacturer Terumo Heart selects VectorCAST for embedded software testing

Vector Software, the leading provider of dynamic software test tools for safety-critical embedded systems, announced today that Terumo Heart has selected the VectorCAST platform to support continuous improvement and ensure software quality on their life-saving DuraHeart™ Left Ventricular Assist System (LVAS) device.

The DuraHeart LVAS is an implantable device that combines patented magnetic levitation and centrifugal pump technologies to assist the left side of the heart in pumping blood. The DuraHeart LVAS improves circulation throughout the body; decreasing the risk of cell damage and its associated complications. The DuraHeart LVAS carries a CE Mark and is currently available for sale in Japan and Europe. The DuraHeart LVAS is limited to investigational use only in the United States.
